What are Learning Communities?
Urban Youth Workers Institute understands that working with urban youth can be a very rewarding ministry, but it can also drain your spirit, emotions, energy, and pocketbook. We are also aware that there are few training resources and growth opportunities available to develop urban leaders. That’s why UYWI is launching several learning communities for youth workers to help them overcome the various challenges inherent to urban leadership and find ongoing support, personal growth, new ideas and powerful community.
A learning community is a monthly gathering of 10-12 urban leaders from throughout your city who meet for about 6 hours to discuss a monthly book selection, enjoy great food, play, pray, laugh, share deeply and more.
The heart of this project is to help you grow personally, live accountably and to experience community. All of us could stand to pray more, read more, have more fun and friends, and to grow in community with other urban leaders in each of our cities. You will never be the same. This is what your heart has been longing for!
