Role at UYWI:
My title is Operations Administrator. I oversee registration for all the events, and some logistics and supplies for RELOAD. If you call on the phone, chances are you will talk to me. I also manage our database and IT in the office.
Education:
B.A in Organizational Leadership, minor in Religion from Chapman University in 2001.
How did you get here?
I joined the team in 2001 as Office Manager for "HMC and Kidworks" which later developed into the Urban Youth Workers Institute.
What's cool about your job?
I enjoy traveling to RELOAD cities and meeting people from all over the country. I like talking to all of you on the phone and then meeting you at the events.
Most Unusual Job:
One summer I was a photographer's assistant for a lady who photographed families and children in black & white and then stylistically colorized to highlight portions of the picture, such as a red rose. It was very interesting.
About Me:
Favorite show: LOST, hands down! It doesn't get much better than a disappearing island and Smokey the monster. Back in real life, I like to go camping and backpacking and hanging out with my friends and their kids.
What tip would you give for getting the most out of UYWI events?
Bring your whole team. Divide and conquer so you can hit more workshops, and then gather to share what you've learned.
