Motivational Monday: Fighting Child Poverty

Did you know that more than 20% of all children in the U.S. fall below the poverty rate? How about the fact that 60% of those children are black & hispanic? This means that more than 16 million children go without sufficient food, shelter, and medical needs.

Ways you can help:

Financially: The obvious response would be financial giving. Take a look at Save the Children‘s options including the “I Do Foundation” (a charity wedding registry), We-Care.com (gives a donation every time you shop online), and more.

Advocacy: The Children’s Health Fund offers practical opportunities for you to help advance policies to protect impoverished children.

Get Creative: Use your strengths to raise awareness or funds. Maybe you can paint and sell coffee mugs.

The point is, the percentage is too high of the youth in poverty that we see everyday, that are our neighbors, and that walk on the same soil as each of us. Everyone can get involved, including you!
