Our “jobs list” is constantly being updated with new entries and removing positions which have been filled. Currently there are 4 opportunities on there which have come in within the past week.     2006-2007 Educational Consultant
    I was a private contractor with the Hanford Elementary School District Family Resource Center. I facilitated health education classes for the African American community in Hanford, CA. I also coordinated community health fairs, Walk-a-thons and Health forums. I contacted all speakers for the classes, contacted community agencies as vendors, and developed the flyers to be sent to each African American family in the School District.

    2004-2006 Certified Parent Educator/ Site Coordinator,
    Fresno Covenant Foundation, Fresno, CA
    I was a Site Coordinator for an after school program in Fresno, CA until I became a Parent Educator in which I am responsible for recruiting and maintaining a caseload of 45 African American and Hispanic families. I do basic assessments along with ASQ’s. I facilitate monthly group meetings for parents and children using various community organization representatives as speakers and Parent Trainers who specialize in Literacy. I visit the children in the early childhood program once a month to model developmentally age appropriate activities for the parents while working with the children.

    I was responsible for the care of six young girls during the night shift. I cleaned the home when necessary, washed clothing, prepared breakfast and evenings meals. I kept logs on all of the girls, monitored and logged all of their phone calls. I supervised outings on weekends to stores.

    I provide care for children ages 2-7 years. I also provide pre-school activities in the morning along with teaching a seven year old that has Cerebral Palsy.

    2002-2003 Social Service Coordinator, LifeSTEPS, Orange, CA
    I was a private contractor with this company. I provided social service activities to three affordable apartment-housing complexes. I worked closely with the apartment director to provide after school activities for children such as Bingo, Kid’s in the Kitchen, Arts and Crafts activities, Teen Rap Nights, youth parties, and also assist parents in locating funds for rent and utility assistance along with referrals for family counseling. I prepared monthly reports regarding the programs that were in operation on each site. These reports enabled us to receive funding for the non-profit agency.

    2000-Present Paula’s Tutoring Service
    This is a self –employed business that I solely operated. I prepare lesson plans for student’s pre-k through 12th grade that require tutoring sessions during the school year and during summer vacation. I provide one-on-one tutoring. I provide help with homework and administer diagnostic testing to students in order to properly place them in their current level of ability.

    2000 –2001 Principal, Hanford Education Center Academy, Hanford, CA
    I enrolled children in private school. I supervised learning center and volunteers. I provided diagnostic testing for all students in order to properly place them in their current level of ability. I Coordinated field trips and taught bible studies for a group of 20 multiage students. I held parent quarterly meetings and assisted children who had been placed in the juvenile system, but were returning to their home environment and a school setting.

    I managed three school sites in Avenal, CA in conjunction with Reef-Sunset School District, which is a 98% Hispanic community. I supervised 15 employees along with students from the work-study program at West Hills Community College. We had an enrollment of approximately 600 children enrolled through the After School and Safe Neighborhood Learning Program. Prior to this I was employed as a teacher/site supervisor for a day care center operated by Kings Community Action Organization

    1994-1998 Administrator, Assistant Principal/Lead Teacher,

    Open and operated a private school for children grades pre-k – 12th grade. I was the custodian of records; I tested children diagnostically, and supervised up to 12 volunteers. I wrote curriculum for high school and junior high school science and social studies classes. I taught various subjects and assisted in fundraisers and field trips.

    I assisted in physical therapist with children and infants who were enrolled in the center. I also supervised children one day a week so that the parents could have respite time.

    I guess I need to clarify… these are not positions with UYWI, but with other ministries who have submitted their vacancies through uywi.org
