A Season of Stories

by John Park, UYWI

The Christmas season is a time for celebration and cheer, eagerly awaiting the arrival of Jesus Christ’s birth into the world. We sing in celebration and listen to the story of Jesus’ birth, but some times can forget how much struggle surrounds Christ’s arrival into the world.

The Jesus birth story includes a teenage mom with a questionable pregnancy explanation, a time where infant boys are being slaughtered, all underlined with the hope in the promise of the one who will save his people from their sins (Matthew 1:21). In all this struggle, the hope of beauty and redemption ring clear. This is often the case for you serving in communities where struggle is the norm and hope seems scarce. UYWI wants to encourage you to remember the story God is writing may not always look perfect but it is a masterpiece in progress.

Stories are verbal acts of hospitality.  They are the way we share who we are with others.  Stories are the way we listen and understand the one sharing their life with us.

So for UYWI, it’s a season of stories. We looked in our vault to highlight several stories of God’s amazing transforming power. We hope you’ll join us during this season and be inspired to share the story God is writing in your life and ministry. #SeasonOfStories
