Jose Rodriguez – Impacting Youth in his Church and Community

JoseRodriguez(150)Jose Rodriquez was once involved in gangs. Now, he passionately serves youth in his church and community. Check out his story:

When I was 12-years old, my dad was imprisoned and I began to look for help from guys around me. That led me to joining a gang. Around the same time, a bus began picking me up for church.

At 15, I committed my life to Christ and began a process to leave the gang, drugs, and the life of crime that I was living. I developed a relationship with Christ and knew that I wanted to help teenagers just like me. God led me to Kingdom Culture Worship Centre, a church in the second poorest large city in the nation, San Bernardino, California.

Ive been sent here as a full time missionarynot just to preach to teenagers, but to help rebuild the city starting with the youth.

The training I have received from UYWI has challenged me to practice healthy boundaries and to build teams so that I don’t burn out. I have learned how to structure a healthy youth ministry to make a greater impact in the lives of the youth I serve in my city.” - Jose Rodriguez, Urban Missionary in San Bernardino, CA.
