Welcoming New Leadership

We are excited to introduce Taylor Sims, Los Angeles Fuel Network Leader. Taylor is the Youth Pastor at Revelation Church of God in Christ in South LA. Coming from a long line of pastors, she grew up immersed in ministry. Though she always felt a calling to serve, she waited until her faith became her own at 13-years-old during a church youth trip. Since then, she has dedicated her life to serving the Lord wholeheartedly.

In 2016, Taylor completed a nine-month internship with Oasis Church in Los Angeles, where her mother was on staff. With a strong business mindset, she initially planned to pursue a corporate career. However, a mentoring conversation with an Oasis pastor challenged her to see how her business knowledge could serve the Church. This realization led her to embrace ministry, merging logistics and strategy with youth discipleship. She returned as the youth pastor at her father’s church, where he serves as the lead pastor.

Taylor is passionate about discipling young people and helping them find their place in the Church. She finds joy in seeing youth actively serve in ministry and has created a space where they feel valued, regardless of their spiritual level. Her leadership is deeply influenced by the generations before her. Watching her own father, once also the youth pastor, sacrifice for and invest in young people gave her a firsthand view of both the challenges and joys of youth ministry.

Taylor’s leadership development was strengthened through the UYWI Certification Program, which her church sponsored after her father introduced her to UYWI. She has been deeply blessed by the connections formed through her cohort and continues to draw on their wisdom and support. Now, as the LA Fuel Network Leader, she is excited to foster that same spirit of collaboration. She understands the struggles of youth ministry and values the importance of having a network of leaders for support.
